The North Wind and the Sun were arguing about who was stronger.
北風と太陽が、どちらが強いか言い争っていました。
Just then, a traveler came walking along the road wearing a warm coat.
ちょうどその時、暖かいコートを着た旅人が道を歩いてきました。
"Let's see who can make the traveler take off his coat," said the Sun.
「どちらが旅人のコートを脱がせることができるか勝負しよう」と太陽が言いました。
The North Wind blew as hard as he could. "Whooo! Whooo!"
北風は力いっぱい吹きました。「ヒュー！ヒュー！」
But the harder the wind blew, the tighter the traveler held his coat.
しかし、風が強く吹けば吹くほど、旅人はコートをきつく押さえました。
Then, the Sun began to shine warmly and brightly.
次に、太陽がポカポカと明るく照らし始めました。
The traveler felt very hot and soon took off his coat.
